Inspiring Leadership and Cultural Exchange in Split
From April 11 to 17 I had the opportunity to join the course “Strategic Leadership and Management for Principals, Vice Principals and Other School Policymakers” in Split. That week the training centre "MAKSIMA" (Ul. Nikole Tesle 16A, Split) welcomed 101 participants from 15 countries, creating a truly inspiring international atmosphere.
What stood out most to me was how openly we shared challenges and worked together on practical solutions. Stepping into leadership roles during activities made the experience very real, helping me reflect on my own approach to decision-making. The sessions were engaging and varied—even taking place outdoors at times—which kept the energy high.
A big takeaway for me was the importance of soft skills in leadership—not just understanding them, but thinking about how to develop them within our own school communities.
Beyond the learning, experiencing Dalmatian culture and meeting such passionate educators at the training centre "MAKSIMA" made the week especially memorable. I left Split feeling motivated, more confident in my leadership perspective and grateful for the connections I made.

The course in Split is unforgettable. It was wonderful to meet so many people from different countries who are working for the same cause but in different ways. I highly recommend going on a course at the beginning of accreditation because it gives you lots
of contacts to make use of. The course itself "Collaboration; Teamwork and Teambuilding" was superbly led by Dario who carried out many exercises with us and stories that gave us the opportunity to think about what is important in our work with teaching and
daily life. Experiencing the Croatian culture gives an additional positive framework to the course.

The training center is fantastic, with amazing people and excellent organization. They are always available to help with filling out documents, and the visits are very well arranged.
Croatia is a truly beautiful country, full of charm and stunning landscapes. Split, in particular, is amazing — with its crystal-clear sea, rich history, and vibrant atmosphere. A place I would definitely love to visit again!

I had a wonderful time in beautiful Croatia, met interesting people from all over Europe and took part in the mindfulness course with Dario. I was impressed by Dario’s charismatic, friendly, and caring nature, as well as his in-depth knowledge of the topics covered. Well organised and interesting courses. Everything was in balance we also had time to go on tours and see the beautiful city. Courses were inspiring. I definitely would like to return for some other lectures in this project.
