COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Get familiar with the world of STEM through fun and interactive activities
STEM is the currently the biggest subject in education for a reason – everything that surrounds us is essentially science. Do you want to know why teaching science should not be perceived as a challenge, but a fun game instead? With this course you will discover the STEM fields of science and break the myth that science is difficult and reserved only for little geniuses! Expect to actively participate in fun and educational chemistry experiments that will bring science closer to you, help you understand it and implement it in your classroom with ease.
Learn how to introduce STEM to students of any age
The term STEM is an acronym woven from the initial letters of four fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The large lack of interest of young people, especially girls & women, in studying STEM fields must be a priority in the creation of any educational system. Learn how to effectively address that issue and make STEM inclusive and accessible to all. With the STEM approach, you will be equipped with the exact knowledge on how to encourage every student to learn interdisciplinary, that is, to integrate knowledge and skills from different fields in solving a problem.
Encourage playful learning and curiosity in the classroom
Learning each subject separately, as in the traditional education system, is avoided, and students are primarily encouraged to think, research and make connections. Learn the importance of the STEM field and its essential impact for the future and find science where you think it is not. Expect to develop critical way of thinking about scientific facts and evidence, analytical reflection on research results, argumentative discussions and lots of laughs. Most importantly, fear not and join us in the STEM wonderland!
LEARNING OUTCOMES – Participant is going to acquire the following competences:
-Broaden their knowledge of the concept of STEM education
