COURSE DESCRIPTION

Use Digital Narratives to Capture Students’ Attention

If maintaining student motivation and focus has become a challenge, this Erasmus+ KA1 course offers a practical and creative approach. Integrating digital storytelling not only strengthens learners’ digital competence and motivation but also helps them express themselves more confidently.

Many students enjoy sharing stories verbally but feel pressure and anxiety when required to write them. Allowing them to use digital tools to produce narratives encourages critical thinking, creativity, and the development of important soft skills.

Utilize ICT tools to Build Creative Story Projects

Creating a digital learning environment promotes collaboration and enriches the overall classroom experience. This stronger engagement can also help reduce early school leaving, which often stems from low interest and lack of stimulation.

Throughout the course, participants will learn how to produce simple videos using various applications, become familiar with Canva to design visually appealing presentations, and explore platforms such as Book Creator and StoryJumper to establish a fully digital storytelling classroom.

Introduce Learners to Filmmaking and Multimedia Editing

Advancing both your own and your students’ digital literacy will significantly improve the teaching–learning process. As ICT plays an increasingly central role in education, this course will show you how to use digital tools in creative ways, including guiding students through basic photography, video creation, and editing.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will develop the following competences:

• Integrate storytelling activities into their everyday lessons
• Understand how to structure compelling narratives and craft meaningful stories
• Expand their digital competencies and apply them effectively in the classroom
• Gain insight into narrative elements such as plot, suspense, backstory, and character development
• Work with digital tools including Book Creator and StoryJumper
• Produce videos as educational storytelling resources
• Strengthen their English language proficiency
