ERASMUS+ COURSES CROATIA – 2nd Transnational Meeting for ACT Communicate Transcend project
After a few bumps on the road we finally meet again! Despite cancellations 24 hours before travel in previous month (due to COVID-19 and weather conditions) we met in February for our 2nd Transnational Project Meeting for the „Act Communicate Transcend“ project.
The meeting took place on February 17th and February 18th 2022 in Sofia, Bulgaria and was hosted by NATSIONALNA SHKOLA PO MENIDZHMANT. The attending partners were Erasmus Courses Croatia (Adult Education Center Maksima), Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi (Turkey), Konya il milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü (Turkey), Asociatia pentru Educatie si Formare ASEF (Romania), Teatar Tirena (Croatia) and Conlan School (United Kingdom).
Upon arrival to Sofia we were warmly welcomed by our Bulgarian partners. The welcome event was organized in a modernly equipped and spacious venue called Arts foundation. During the event we enjoyed a nice atmosphere and conversation – so much had happened since our last meeting! The local music in the background and Bulgarian food specialities served as a perfect setting for our reunion and a nice introduction into Bulgarian culture. After a whole day of travelling, we were eager to try homemade Bulgarian bread „Koledna Pitka“ which our hosts so kindly made for us.
On first day of the meeting we discussed various topics: current state of the project and the progress we made, individual contributions of each partner, intellectual ouputs, dissemination and ways in which we can improve our work and collaboration.
On second day of the meeting we focused on the future. Together, we developed an agenda for the upcoming Transnational Project Meeting which will be held in Konya, Turkey in March 2022. During the lunch break our hosts took us to a beautiful restaurant called „Made in Blue“ where we enjoyed Bulgarian food specialties. Some of the most memorable moments in Sofia included taking a picture in front of the Bulgarian National Theatre and in front of the Saint Alexander Nevsky Patriarch’s cathedral. After lunch we went back to the venue to finish our meeting until 6:00 PM. Following the end of the meeting we went out for coffee and tea to celebrate. We also took advantage of time we had left to explore Sofia a bit more on our own.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time in Sofia! It is a beautiful city, filled with friendly people and positive energy. We are very grateful to our hosts for their amazing hospitality and are looking forward to continuing our work and seeing our extraordinary partners again on our next meeting in March!

The aims of our project are to assist the progress of learning English as a foreign language, in particular speaking skills, by developing a speaking assessment rubric, a set of training materials, a drama-based activity book, and, finally, an e-learning platform which will unite all previously mentioned intellectual outputs and be made available for use both for teachers and their students even after the project is finalized, to develop new and innovative teaching methods and implement these directly into practice as well as professional development through project work.
