COURSE DESCRIPTION

Discover the renowned Finnish educational approach, celebrated worldwide for its innovative, effective, and student-centered teaching methods.

During this course, participants will gain insight into the core principles of Finnish teacher training, with a focus on practical and applicable strategies both inside and outside the classroom. Many of the activities and exercises will take place in outdoor settings to encourage experiential learning and engagement.

Participants will explore the Finnish approach to lesson planning, student assignments, communication methods, feedback and evaluation techniques, special education basics, and understanding the hidden curriculum. The course methods are adaptable to learners of all ages and backgrounds. Given the student-centered nature of the Finnish system, the course will be tailored collaboratively with participants to best suit their individual needs and interests. Prepare for outdoor activities, interactive exercises, and plenty of fun along the way!

Meet Your Trainer

Despite his relatively young age, Juhani Salo brings a decade of experience teaching across different levels in the Finnish education system—from 2nd grade elementary classrooms to university courses. Holding a Master’s degree in Pedagogy, Physical Education, and Health Science, Juhani has also taught nearly every Finnish school subject as a substitute during his early career.

With international teaching experience in nine countries, Juhani combines his deep curiosity for learning with a passion for sharing the Finnish educational philosophy. Participants will benefit from his expertise in a relaxed and inspiring Adriatic Sea environment, creating a rich exchange of ideas and best practices.
