COURSE DESCRIPTION

Refine Essential Soft Skills

This Erasmus+ KA1 course is created for teachers and school staff who want to further develop the soft skills that play a key role in maintaining high-quality teaching. Throughout the course, participants will enhance their own soft skills and discover ways to help students strengthen theirs as well. These 21st-century competencies—such as adaptability, communication, attitude, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, motivation, critical thinking, and conflict resolution—support effective teaching in mixed-ability classrooms and when working with students with special needs.

Deepen Emotional Intelligence

During this Erasmus teacher training experience, you will examine the impact of emotional intelligence on your relationships—with others and with yourself. Emotional intelligence includes both interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities, involving the management of one’s own emotions as well as understanding and responding to the emotions of others. Strengthening this skill contributes to effective communication, improved learning, academic achievement, and future employability. Through developing emotional intelligence, you will boost your self-awareness, emotional regulation, and your ability to build meaningful connections with students and colleagues.

Apply Mindfulness & Reduce Emotional Fatigue

Participants will also explore how mindfulness practices support the development of emotional intelligence and can play a significant role in preventing stress, burnout, and even school bullying. Mindfulness will be presented as a practical tool for maintaining balance, fostering resilience, and cultivating a calm and focused classroom environment.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Gain a deeper understanding of soft skills and learn strategies to help students improve their own soft skills
• Build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues through emotional intelligence
• Increase self-awareness and strengthen emotional self-regulation
• Understand the importance of emotional intelligence in communication, academic outcomes, and employability
• Practice and apply mindfulness techniques in personal and professional contexts
• Learn how emotional intelligence can be developed, assessed, and measured
• Enhance adaptability, communication, creativity, teamwork, decision-making, time management, and overall professional attitude
• Strengthen skills related to self-awareness, emotional control, motivation, empathy, and relationship-building
