I would also like to thank Ivona Jelavic for showing us a high school in Split and giving us the opportunity to learn more about the Croatian education system and the learning environment of local students. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Croatian educational system began a significant curriculum reform a few years ago, first in experimental schools that later served as national models for best practices. The reform aims to incorporate novel concepts (such as learning outcomes planning) and critical lifelong learning competencies (such as problem-solving, learning to learn, and coaching) into Croatian schools.
The entire procedure gave schools a significant opportunity to modify their instructional strategies, consider novel ideas, and assess them.
According to Eurostat, in 2022, the EU members that reported the lowest shares of early school leavers from education and training were Croatia (2%), Ireland, Slovenia and Greece (each 4%), Poland and Lithuania (each 5%).
With this Erasmus+ Course 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 – 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬!, participants will learn about the Croatian educational system and its recent overhaul. They will learn about the many levels of education offered and how the comprehensive Croatian educational reform affected them.

Experiential learning through a variety of activities
Participants in the course will also gain knowledge of how schools are run, how classes, projects, and extracurricular activities are organized, and other aspects of daily life for teachers and students in Croatian schools.
Teachers will tour a range of Croatian schools over the course week, including high schools, Vocational Education and Training School, Regional Center for Excellence and other Erasmus very active primary schools in the area and a unique example of a school on the Island of Brač.
The Erasmus+ objectives for primary and secondary education, the use of digital tools in education, inclusion, different types of formative assessment, mindfulness, interdisciplinarity, sustainable development, music education, and eTwinning are just a few examples of the topics that each school will discuss in their best practices and run a practical workshop on.

Cultural Heritage Enrichment
The course does not end in the classroom. The participants will also have the opportunity to learn more and experience the cultural heritage and rich history of the Dalmatian region of Croatia with Erasmus+ Courses Croatia.
