DUBROVNIK – Sustainability in Education – Embracing Green Thinking and Eco-Friendly Lifestyles

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Accelerating climate changes are reshaping both our ecosystems and our daily lives on an unprecedented level. Although global warming can feel unavoidable, there is still room to influence the attitudes of younger generations—which is why we must take initiative and learn how to guide others toward sustainable living.

This training is designed for teachers and school staff who wish to grow in the field of environmental education and eco-conscious teaching. Throughout the course, you will deepen your awareness of the climate challenges facing our world and discover how to integrate sustainable development principles into your instructional practice.

You will take part in outdoor learning and exchange insights with colleagues from across Europe—whether strolling along the coast, enjoying the sunshine, or studying in the shade of trees. The course explores several topics related to waste management, eco-friendly habits, and methods for motivating young people to take action in addressing the environmental crisis. By the end, you will be ready to weave environmental education into your curriculum and help shape students into the environmental advocates of the future.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will learn how to:

• Inspire children to protect our oceans and grow into environmental champions
• Encourage students to take part in keeping local waters clean and free of waste
• Organize debates and classroom projects focused on environmental sustainability
• Incorporate students’ reflections and ideas about the climate crisis into everyday activities
