COURSE DESCRIPTION
Teaching in the modern era brings many different challenges. Educators today deal with heavy administrative demands, frequent student misbehaviour, and demanding working conditions. All of this can create high levels of pressure and may eventually lead to burnout if not managed well. Because of these growing demands, taking care of our mental health has become a key foundation for maintaining balance, happiness, and overall well-being.
Our programme, “Strengthening Mental Health & Well-being through Mindfulness,” explores what triggers stress in our daily lives and helps us understand how we can transform it into something manageable. We will look at our main stressors and take time to reconnect with the positive moments we often overlook.
A large part of the course is dedicated to living more consciously in the present moment and learning to use the breath as a steady support for calmness and clarity. Participants will be invited to activate their senses, take mindful walks, and take part in group activities designed to boost relaxation and emotional stability.
The course also turns attention toward our students’ mental health. We will introduce core ideas of emotional awareness and offer teamwork challenges that help teachers create supportive and caring classroom environments.
Our psychologist and Mindfulness trainer, Dario Caljkusic, earned his Honors degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA. His sessions are both lively and reflective—filled with humour, depth, and practical tools.
