COURSE DESCRIPTION

This Erasmus+ KA1 course is created for teachers, educators, school staff, and principals who wish to strengthen their understanding and awareness of climate change, sustainability, and environmental protection. Preserving seas and water sources is one of the key challenges that lies ahead for future generations.

Climate change may appear unavoidable, yet there is still room to influence the attitudes of younger generations—making it essential for us to act now and learn how to guide others toward sustainable lifestyles. Being based in the stunning city of Dubrovnik provides an ideal setting to immerse ourselves in the themes of environmental responsibility and the crucial role of safeguarding seas and waters.

Deepen Your Knowledge Through Theory and Hands-On Experiences

This Erasmus+ KA1 training will introduce you to essential topics, including defining what the environment truly consists of and understanding pollution and its consequences on our lives.

Our experienced Erasmus trainers will take you directly to the coastline, where learning will take place on the beach and waterfront. While walking along the shore, you will explore the significance, resilience, and value of aquatic environments.

Share What You Learn & Strengthen Students’ Environmental Mindset

Practical activities and strategies focused on understanding marine and freshwater environments lie at the heart of this course. You will gain hands-on methods to help students tackle environmental challenges in meaningful ways.

Since students are our ultimate audience, it is crucial not only to adopt new habits ourselves but also to effectively pass this knowledge on to them. By shaping their perspectives and influencing their daily choices, we contribute to their future well-being. For this reason, the course will guide you in presenting aquatic topics to students within a classroom context.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will develop the following competencies:

• Strengthen awareness and understanding of climate change, sustainability, and environmental protection
• Learn directly within the aquatic surroundings of the Adriatic Sea, as well as Dalmatian rivers and streams
• Become familiar with the advantages of outdoor learning
• Explore practical approaches to addressing environmental challenges
• Apply the newly gained knowledge with students in classroom activities
