DUBROVNIK – Art in Education: Nurturing Creativity Through Eco-Art and Digital Expression

Course Description

This Erasmus+ KA1 training program is designed to equip teachers with practical skills and knowledge to weave art, eco-art concepts, and digital tools into their educational practices. In a world that is constantly evolving, creativity, environmental awareness, and digital competence have become essential for meaningful learning.

The course provides opportunities to merge artistic expression, sustainability, and digital innovation to heighten environmental consciousness, encourage creativity, and strengthen digital abilities.

Exploring Artistic Practices in the Classroom

This Erasmus+ KA1 course supports teachers in bringing a variety of artistic techniques into their daily teaching. Creative activities help cultivate problem-solving skills, emotional expression, and critical thinking. Participants will explore methods such as video and visual arts, stop-motion filmmaking, clay sculpture, and the incorporation of traditional music. Through practical projects, educators will learn how to motivate students and enrich lessons by using artistic expression as a tool for both academic and personal development.

Eco-Art for Environmental Learning

Eco-art principles serve as an engaging way to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. This training guides educators in integrating eco-art into their curriculum, motivating students to work with natural elements and repurposed materials. Participants will experiment with eco-art techniques and take part in workshops focused on environmental themes. By creating eco-artworks, teachers will gain strategies to help students reflect on ecological challenges and become more proactive in caring for the planet.

Combining Digital Media with Traditional Art

Introducing digital tools into the arts enriches the learning experience and strengthens students’ technological proficiency. The course offers guidance on using digital applications and video-editing tools in creative projects. Educators will learn to design digital compositions and stop-motion animations, blending traditional artistic processes with modern technology, including the integration of traditional music. This approach prepares teachers to help students use technology thoughtfully and imaginatively, equipping them for a digital-driven world.

Experiential Learning with Nature and Technology in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Participants will investigate how artistic practices and digital tools can spark positive transformation in the classroom. They will explore innovative ways to involve students in discussions about environmental and technological topics. The course introduces a variety of teaching strategies for incorporating eco-art and digital projects across school subjects. Sessions will take place in inspiring natural settings—such as forests, coastal areas, and a historic Roman palace—which provide a powerful backdrop for creativity and discovery.

These activities will nurture creativity and digital skills while highlighting the interconnections within our environment and how human actions impact natural resources. Working in these stunning locations will deepen participants’ appreciation of nature, artistic expression, and the potential of digital media to support activism, awareness, and community-driven environmental initiatives.
