Overview

Course Description

The Resilient Teacher course is designed to address the increasing challenges teachers face in today’s demanding educational environment. Recognising the often-overlooked social, emotional, and cognitive demands of teaching, this course offers a comprehensive approach to prevent burnout and enhance overall well-being through mindfulness practices. It aims to equip educators with the skills needed to manage stress, foster emotional regulation, and cultivate a positive mindset, thereby improving job satisfaction and retention in the teaching profession.

Enhacing Teacher Well-being

Teachers will learn practical mindfulness techniques that reduce stress and enhance emotional and mental well-being. By focusing on practices that foster emotional regulation, increase focus, and cultivate empathy, the course provides tools for educators to create a healthier, more balanced professional life. Participants will engage in hands-on activities in a natural, outdoor setting, experiencing the benefits of mindfulness firsthand. These activities are designed to build a strong foundation for greater life satisfaction, better work-life balance, and healthier interpersonal relationships.

Integrating Mindfulness into Education

Beyond personal well-being, the course emphasizes the integration of mindfulness into the classroom. Educators will explore methods to incorporate mindfulness practices that help students build cognitive and emotional skills. These skills are crucial for developing inner strength, resilience, a sense of purpose, and the capacity to adapt to change. By implementing these practices, teachers can create a supportive and creative classroom environment that nurtures both academic and personal growth in students.

.

Hands-On, Experiential Learning

The course is grounded in scientifically proven methods and facilitated by experienced mindfulness teachers. It adopts a hands-on, experiential approach, aligning with the motto ‘practice what you preach.’ This ensures that teachers are not only learning about mindfulness but are also embodying and practicing the qualities they wish to instill in their students. Through this immersive experience, educators will develop sustainable mindfulness practices that they can continue to use and teach, fostering long-term well-being and success for themselves and their students.
