COURSE DESCRIPTION

Address Bullying with Awareness, Prevention, and Compassion

In many cases, by the time we begin responding to the consequences of bullying, the harm has already taken place. The most effective moment to act is before incidents occur. For this reason, we developed an Erasmus teacher training course focused on proactive bullying prevention rather than reactive measures.
Recent studies reveal that most bullying takes place inside school settings rather than during the commute. Considering that one in five children is likely to experience it, the urgency of addressing this issue becomes even clearer.

Understand the Roots of Bullying to Prevent It Effectively

Bullying involves recurring aggressive behavior, and it is essential for educators to understand both its causes and the intention behind the harmful actions. These behaviors can result in serious emotional, psychological, and even physical consequences. Therefore, teachers must learn to detect early warning signs and know how to intervene appropriately.
This Erasmus+ KA1 programme was developed in partnership with experienced school psychologists who have been working on this topic for many years.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Participants will develop the following competences:

• Gain a thorough understanding of aggressive behaviors, learn how to prevent them, and become familiar with protocols to follow when bullying does occur
• Explore strategies for conflict resolution and building healthier peer relationships
• Become equipped with mindfulness techniques and learn how to use critical-thinking and problem-solving activities to foster acceptance, inclusion, and respect among students
• Learn how to create a safe school environment, identify signs of bullying in both aggressors and victims, and apply effective response methods
• Analyze case studies and discover how art-based activities can be used as meaningful therapeutic tools
