Course Description

Rapid shifts in the climate are reshaping our environment and daily lives at an astonishing pace. Although global warming can feel overwhelming, we still have the opportunity and responsibility to influence younger generations in meaningful ways. This course invites educators to take proactive steps and learn how to guide students toward sustainable and environmentally responsible living.

Designed for teachers and school staff interested in strengthening their knowledge of ecological and sustainability-focused education, the course provides a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges facing our world today. You will explore practical ways to integrate sustainable development concepts into your teaching practice. Set in the stunning Mediterranean city of Split, the course also allows participants to directly experience the value of biodiversity while discovering the area’s natural wonders.

Learning takes place outdoors, surrounded by sunshine, the sea, and the calming shade of trees. Participants will collaborate with colleagues from across Europe, exchanging experience and ideas in a relaxed, nature-rich environment. Throughout the program, we will explore waste-reduction strategies, eco-friendly habits, and methods for motivating young people to actively participate in solving environmental issues. By the end, you will feel confident embedding environmental education into your curriculum and inspiring students to become passionate guardians of the planet.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn to:

• Encourage students to care for and protect our oceans, inspiring them to become environmental champions.
  Engage learners in activities that help keep local waters clean and free from waste.
• Plan and lead classroom debates and projects focused on environmental sustainability.
• Incorporate student reflections and ideas about the climate crisis into everyday teaching activities.
