MY INTERNSHIP IN SPLIT
Hi,
Let me introduce myself, I’m a 20 year-old french girl and I live in Tours, near to Paris. I study management and my bachelor requires an internship of 2 months to validate my second year.
So, I started my research in the country I already love and know: Croatia. I really wanted to do my internship in marketing, because it’s a field that attracts me a lot. Immediately, thanks to the website ERASMUS Intern (https://erasmusintern.org/), I have found an internship offer at Pappagallo language school. The website is very easy to use, you have a huge list of internship offers in various countries and on various fields. You can apply for the offers easily, you just have to write a motivation letter and give your resume. After that, you receive an email when an employer answers to one of your applications. From that, the website connects you with the employer to chat and make an interview.
After a Skype interview, I’M TAKEN! I have decided to do an internship of one month, in July. On the first day, I had a warm welcome and I met the team I am going to work with: Ana & Ana, or the blond one and the brown one. They told me everything I have to know about my work here, the schedule (most of the time it’s 10:30AM – 2:30PM) and really take care of me. The first week, I was in charge to make Instagram post and story which is really fun but also technique. On the second week, the school welcomed Portuguese teachers for their Erasmus courses. They told me to take a lot of pictures of them when they visited Split with a guide (really interesting!!), when they had courses outside… Thanks to them, I have discovered many places in Split, more beautiful than the others, where I would not have gone as a tourist. On the third week, I was in charge of making blog post, which was so interesting because I have NEVER done that before. I continued to post content on social media as well. I have learned a lot from the two Ana, about digital marketing and so many things really helpful for my professional life.
When I arrived here, I have been just a bachelor student with theoretical knowledge, this internship has learned me the practical side of marketing and the corporate life. It allowed me to discover all the fields of marketing (social media, blog, communication, pictures…) with the best mentors!
But, enough about work because, thanks to the light schedule, I could visit Split from top to bottom, a city that I LOVE. I spent a lot of time on the beach, swam in the Adriatic Sea but beware of sunburn! I visited the islands around Split, like Brač, a beautiful and peaceful island. I also went to Trogir, a lovely and authentic city near to Split and I rode a quad, so fun!
This internship has enabled me to meet a lot of people (the other intern with me is from Bielorussia!) and improved my English.
To sum up, if you want to spend your time on the beach in a beautiful city and at the same time learn and acquire new skills for your future, this internship is made for you!
