COURSE DESCRIPTION

STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, arts, engineering and mathematics, and STEAM education is a holistic approach to learning in which subjects are integrated.

Critical thinking is a huge part of personal development but it is also crucial for the global future. It’s getting more and more challenging to be an educator in the 21st century as we need to prepare children for jobs that don’t even exist today — this can be confirmed by the fact that 90% of informations we know today are created in the past few years. For that reason, instead of “making” geniuses, teachers have to make a great effort to educate children to ask questions and try to solve problems using different STEAM approaches.

Children are curious and playful so this course is designed to help teachers take advantage of it and make classes more interesting. Learn how to implement STEAM activties in your teaching practice, develop your student’s natural skills and interests and encourage them to create new ideas. If we direct children to STEAM, we are helping them to make a first step to their future and their future careers.

This course is aimed at teachers of any subject, at Pre-Primary and Primary School.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The participants of the course will broaden their understanding of using STEAM methods throughout interdisciplinary approach and experimental learning, gain new inspiration for using alternative teaching methods, and learn how to prepare lessons in a more creative way using critical thinking. Participants are also going to explore the ways of creating project-based lessons and using things and different everyday phenomena to explain science terms and processes, as well as to expand their knowledge on benefits of team work.
