COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Learn about the importance of cultural heritage in an amazing Mediterranean destination
This Erasmus+ KA1 course is aimed at teachers and educational staff who want to deepen their understanding of the factors that make up cultural heritage and learn how to use it as a resource for teaching different subjects. You will learn by exploring one of the most beautiful Mediterranean cities – the fantastic city of Split. Get familiar with values, beliefs, traditions and history of this unique location with our fantastic Erasmus+ teacher trainers!
Experience hands-on approach to learning by immersing yourself in local way of life
This Erasmus+ course will be based on practical lessons held outdoors. Participants will take part in cultural visits and sightseeing with an aim to discover stunning local cultural heritage. Each trip will be connected to different field of education, making this course ideal for any educator. The focus will be on on-site explorative learning and immersion into the Split culture and nature.
Acquire the tools and methods for integrating cultural heritage into your classroom
The goal of this teacher training course is to equip participants with tools and methods to implement cultural heritage education into your classroom, using Split as the case study example. By taking part in project-based workshops, you will learn about the importance of blended learning and cooperation, as well as experiential approach to learning. Consequently, you will know how to raise awareness on the significance of all domains of culture, empower the sense of European identity and diversity, and, last but not least, promote social inclusion. Use this knowledge to create a healthy classroom environment filled with open-minded and ambitious youngsters!
LEARNING OUTCOMES – Participant is going to acquire the following competences:
-Enrich knowledge about the cultural heritage of the city of Split, Croatia.
-Acquire the tools, methods and ideas on how to introduce the topic of cultural heritage in their classroom
-Assess the importance of cultural heritage for creating a socially inclusive classroom environment
-Learn how to foster the understanding of value of different domains of cultural heritage in your students and promote the sense of European identity
-Examine the possibilites experiential learning and blended classroom
-Gain knowledge about the significance of cooperation in the project-based learning
-Obtain ideas about planning outdoor classes
